There are two more cases of E. coli infection linked to a Souplantation restaurant in Lake Forest. Orange County heath officials say the new cases brings the number of people sickened by the bacterium to twelve. The first ten people who tested positive for E. coli had eaten at the salad-buffet restaurant on March 23rd or 24th. But the latest tests confirm a teenager had eaten there on March 25th. Tests also show a Souplantation employee was infected by an E. coli strain that can cause severe diarrhea and kidney damage. The findings prompted county officials to suspend Souplantation's health permit. The restaurant has temporarily closed so that all its employees can be tested. Officials are still trying to identify the contamination source.
