Two hurt in City Heights attack, 1 arrested

SAN DIEGO - A group of men waiting for a taxi cab were attacked on a City Heights street early Monday morning.

According to San Diego police, three men visiting the area from Colorado had just left a nearby restaurant and were waiting for a cab in the 4700 block of University Avenue at about 3:30 a.m. when they were approached by another group of men who assaulted them.

One of the victims was stabbed in the head, police said. In total, two people were taken to nearby hospitals. Their conditions were not confirmed.

The circumstances that led up to the attack were not clear. One of the men in the group described the actions of their alleged attackers to 10News.

"He was screaming and yelling, and they started fighting and hitting and punching," Molla Robso said.

A 46-year-old man accused in the stabbing was later arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon.
