A Sig Alert was issued for eastbound Interstate 8 in the La Mesa area after a truck on the westbound lanes crossed over and struck another car on the eastbound side.

The crash happened just after 5 p.m. on eastbound I-8 near Jackson Drive when a truck traveling westbound lost control, struck another vehicle, flipped over the center-divide and then hit a car on the eastbound lanes head-on, according to the California Highway Patrol.Emergency crews were summoned to the scene, and one person was transported to the hospital. Several other minor injuries were reported.A witness initially told authorities the truck might have been racing another vehicle right before crashing.However, authorities confirmed that the truck was experiencing tire trouble, which led to the crash.As of 8 p.m., all lanes on I-8 were open.Copyright Do you have more information about this story?
