Top San Diego restaurants for tacos

SAN DIEGO - It isn't a surprise to know that San Diego is known for its great Mexican food restaurants—especially considering its proximity to the border.

It was hard to narrow it down but here's our picks for top restaurants for tacos.

Tacos El Gordo: Tacos El Gordo is one of the more authentic street taco shops in the region. The restaurant offers a variety of tacos for cheap but the adobada (roasted pork) is a must-have.

JV's Mexican Food: The restaurant located near University of San Diego, is a favorite for locals. It has some of the best carne asada one can find in San Diego and great potato tacos.

South Beach Bar & Grille: Famous for its fish tacos, South Beach Bar & Grille is conveniently located in Ocean Beach. But bring cash as the restaurant doesn't accept credit cards.

Lucha Libre Taco Shop: The restaurant's name translates to "professional wrestling" and with top tacos, this restaurant can compete. The surf and turf taco is a top pick but the breakfast tacos also deserve attention.

La Fachada: This Logan Heights restaurant is definitely worth a stop. Try the carnitas once and you'll find yourself coming back weekly.
