CORONADO, Calif. - A 16-year-old boy is in police custody charged with making criminal threats Thursday morning, according to city officials.
Coronado High School was locked down briefly this morning due to reported threats made on Snapchat.
The threats obtained by 10News read (with expletives redacted): "Goodbye chs, Hello prison, Don't come to school, Tomorrow," and "I'm getting my assault rifle rn, [Expletive] this [expletive]."
The teenager was taken into custody without incident at his Coronado home.
Police officers were called to the campus on 650 D Avenue just after 10 a.m. to investigate the threat.
Coronado Police reported after conducting a search on campus that the "source of the threat" was detained off campus. Just before 11 a.m., police lifted the lockdown and the campus resumed its school day.
