Thieves crash stolen car into pole, 3 arrested

SAN DIEGO - A trio of suspects were arrested today after crashing a stolen car into a metal pole in a gas station parking lot in Allied Gardens, police said.
Shortly before 3:30 a.m., officers in the vicinity of Mission Gorge Road and Twain Avenue spotted a 1996 Honda Accord that had been reported stolen earlier, according to San Diego police.
Officers attempted to stop the car, but the woman driving it sped up and headed into the nearby gas station parking lot, police said. She was taken into custody after crashing into the pole.
A male passenger got out of the wrecked car carrying a metal pipe and officers used their stun guns to subdue him, according to police. Another female passenger tried to run from the car, but was arrested shortly after, police said.
The car was recovered, police said.
