According to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, Poway resident Ashlee Bizell, 17, and 16-year-old Ramona resident Tyler Thorton were last seen in the Poway area on July 28.
The teens were believed to be in the Poway, Ramona or Lakeside area, and sheriff's officials said they had likely traveled on foot.
Sheriff's officials said they had reason to believe Bizell "may be in fear for her safety" and was "possibly being held against her will." Sheriff's officials also noted Thorton was known to carry knives.
At about 6:20 p.m., sheriff's deputies found the teens at a home on Metate Lane in Poway. Authorities said the woman who let them stay at the home had no idea their parents were looking for them. When she saw the report on the news, she alerted the sheriff's department and deputies came and picked up the two.
The teens, who were in good condition, were taken to a sheriff's station in Poway for questioning.
10News spoke with Bizell's mother, who later arrived at the sheriff's station. When asked if Bizell had ever done this before, she responded, "She's done this before, but it was not like this."
She later added, "I feel better now that she's been found and she's OK."
