National City, Calif. - At least one teen is under arrest after a car chase that led police officers through several southeast San Diego neighborhoods Friday.

The chase began at Cahill Drive and Guthrie Way in Encanto at 1:30 a.m. after a patrol unit tried to stop a minivan with two teens inside.

The teens did not pull over and sped off instead, slamming into a fence in the 7800 block of Bloomfield. The vehicle also crashed in the 7400 block of Cahill Drive and the 500 block of Brutus Street, damaging more fences and parked cars.

Police said the van sped through Skyline, South Bay Terraces and Paradise Hills before heading to National City.

The chase ended on 20th Street near Prospect Street in National City and at least one of the juveniles was arrested.
