SD Police Officers Noticed Teen Driving Without Headlights On

A teenager led police on a chase both in and outside of his car early Monday morning.

The 16-year-old boy was seen driving on 33rd Street near Imperial Avenue in south east San Diego around 1 a.m. without his headlights on.

When a San Diego Police officer tried to pull him over the teen kept driving. A few blocks away the driver ran from the vehicle and lead police on a foot chase.

Officers found the teen a short time later in a tow-yard where he suffered a minor injury.

Paramedics were called to the scene and took the teen to a local hospital.

Police did not know at the time that the car the teen was driving was reported stolen earlier in the week.

There is no word on his condition or what charges he faces.
