SAN DIEGO - A four-hour SWAT situation that forced the evacuation of residents in a Central San Diego apartment complex ended early Tuesday after officers conducted a search inside a unit and did not find a suspect.
Heavily-armed SWAT officers and U.S. Marshals swarmed at a residence in the 4200 block of Juniper at 10 p.m. Monday.
Police told 10News that officers were trying to serve a warrant for a felony suspect.
Officers eventually used pepper ball rounds into an apartment unit, but got no response.
At around 2 a.m., the incident ended as SWAT officers along with a K-9 unit entered the unit and conducted a search. They learned that the suspect was not inside the unit.
Residents were allowed to go back into their homes.
