SAN DIEGO - USD Campus Police along with San Diego Police and firefighters responded to the University of San Diego campus in Linda Vista to reports of a suspicious device Saturday afternoon.

San Diego Police were called in to assist shortly after 12:30 p.m.

Maurice Luque with San Diego Fire and Rescue Department tells 10News that the suspicious device was found in a dorm room.

The device has since been moved to the Hughes Administration Center on the campus for further investigation.

We're told USD Campus Police say the device looked like an explosive.

San Diego Police tell 10News the device was detonated shortly before 4:30p.m.
