SAN DIEGO - A woman operating a pedicab in the Gaslamp Quarter was robbed at gunpoint early Wednesday and the people responsible were quickly arrested, police said.

The robbery on Fourth Avenue, south of Market Street, was reported at 2:13 a.m., according to San Diego police Officer David Stafford.

The woman was headed southbound when a maroon car with two men and one woman inside drove up and one of the men got out of the vehicle, Stafford said in a statement.

The man put a revolver into the victim's side and demanded cash. Stafford said she complied and the man got back into the car with the victim's money.

A short time later, an officer spotted a maroon car matching the description of the one used in the robbery and initiated a traffic stop. Two men and a woman inside the car were arrested on suspicion of armed robbery after being identified by the victim, Stafford said. Their names were not immediately released.
