Suspected US Bank robber sought by authorities

SAN DIEGO - A bearded man in dark glasses robbed an Ocean Crest-area supermarket banking center late Thursday morning.

The thief, who appeared to be 40 to 50 years old, approached a teller at the US Bank desk inside the Vons store in the 600 block of Dennery Road and demanded cash shortly before 11 a.m., according to the FBI.

After the clerk gave him an undisclosed amount of money, the bandit walked out of the business and fled on foot to the south.

He was described as white or Hispanic, with "trimmed" facial hair and wearing tan cargo shorts, a gray or tan T-shirt, construction boots, sunglasses and a dark-blue Padres baseball cap, police said.

Investigators believe the same man robbed another US Bank office in a Vons store in the 600 block of Saturn Boulevard in Egger Highlands on Tuesday morning, according to the FBI.
