EL CAJON, Calif. - A suspected drunk driver is under arrest Tuesday after a crash that left a local business in shambles in El Cajon.
Initial reports indicate that the incident began with a Toyota Tacoma reportedly weaving in traffic while on a highway. The truck eventually made its way to surface streets and headed eastbound on Broadway in El Cajon.
The truck reportedly slammed into a fire hydrant and a fence on the 1300 block of Broadway, causing gallons of water to shoot up in the air.
10News learned that water from the damaged fire hydrant flooded a nearby business and soaked computer and other office equipment. An employee from the business, called Amarc Enterprises, was at the scene trying to salvage items inside. According to its website, Amarc Enterprises sells mineral and vitamin supplements.
10News learned that the driver of the Toyota Tacoma also failed to yield when police officers tried to pull him over.
Initial reports indicate that eventually, one of the officers used his patrol car to block the truck and force it to stop.
10News will update this story as more information becomes available.
