SAN MARCOS, Calif. - A suspected drunken driver was arrested following a fatal hit-and-run crash in San Marcos early Sunday, sheriff's officials said.
The crash occurred at about 1:20 a.m. near Las Flores Drive and South Santa Fe Avenue, according to Deputy Tammy Bennetts. A motorcyclist traveling on Las Flores Drive was struck by a Toyota 4Runner SUV that was going west on South Santa Fe Avenue.
San Marcos paramedics pronounced the rider, a 30-year-old man, dead at the scene.
