SAN DIEGO - A woman who police say broke into a boat at Shelter Island and helped herself to food and beer inside was arrested Tuesday evening after being lost in the water for two hours.
Harbor Police tell 10News the boat owner was attacked when she tried to confront the woman at about 6 p.m.
Police say the suspected intruder shoved the owner and then jumped into the bay, leaving behind a bag of methamphetamine on board.
Two hours later, a group of kayakers discovered the woman in the water, hiding under a dock, clinging onto a post near Humphrey's by the Bay.
She was then arrested on suspicion of burglary, battery and drug charges.
Police did not release her age or identity Tuesday night.
The victim was not injured.
