Sketch released of Little Italy shooting suspect

SAN DIEGO - Police have released the sketch of a woman wanted in a shooting that injured two people in the Little Italy neighborhood of San Diego last weekend.

The shooting occurred at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday in the 1600 block of Kettner Boulevard. The suspect approached three women with a handgun and demanded their purses. She then fired the handgun, hitting one of the victims in the arm and the other in the abdomen. The suspect ran away without taking any property.

Both victims were taken to hospitals and are expected to survive.

The shooter fled in a light-colored minivan driven by a man, according to witnesses. The vehicle was last seen going eastbound on West Date Street.

The woman was described as a light-skinned Hispanic, 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-6, thin, with light brown hair with lighter-colored highlights pulled tightly back in a ponytail or bun. She was wearing a puffy brown jacket with a fur-lined hood, dark pants and black shoes.
