FBI says man robbed California Bank & Trust

SAN DIEGO - Police and FBI agents on Tuesday made public surveillance images of a robber who used a demand note at bank branch in Kearny Mesa.

The holdup at the California Bank and Trust at 8252 Clairemont Mesa Boulevard occurred about 9:45 a.m. Thursday, and the robber got away with an undisclosed sum, according to FBI Special Agent Darrell Foxworth.

No weapon was seen and no one was injured, Foxworth said.

The robber was described as white, in his late 40s or early 50s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and 170 pounds, with a medium build. He was wearing a black Padres baseball cap with "SD" on the front, dark sunglasses, a black sweatshirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.

Anyone with more information as to the name or whereabouts of the robber was asked to call the FBI at (858) 320-1800, or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
