CARLSBAD, Calif. - The Internet is buzzing about a video of Superman seen flying over the coast in Carlsbad.

Turns out it’s a build-your-own radio controlled superhero really taking off.

The video was shot by a local cyclist, and quickly went viral.

10News tracked down the local engineer behind the flying machine.

Designer Otto Dieffenbach, a former U.S. Air Force test pilot, who has built about a dozen R/C controlled figures.

Dieffenbach's fleet also includes a superwoman pin up girl complete with stilettos, and Iago the parrot from Disney's “Aladdin” film.

In a few months, Dieffenbach and his partner said they plan to start selling their figures for under $500 each.
