CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. - A man is in a hospital Wednesday after he was stabbed at least one time in the neck while on base in Camp Pendleton.

Mercy Air arrived on base around 1:45am after the stabbing was reported to take the victim to a hospital.

10News placed several calls to Camp Pendleton for more details but has not received a call back.

It was unclear as of 7 a.m. if the man is a member of the military and why he was not treated at the base.

It was also unclear if anyone is in custody in connection to the stabbing.

The man arrived at Scripps La Jolla Hospital at 2:30am and was rushed to the emergency room.

10News spoke with a spokesperson at the hospital who would not reveal the man's condition.
