Brush fire forces brief SR-52 closure

SAN DIEGO - Westbound state Route 52 near Mast Boulevard was temporarily shut down Tuesday afternoon due to a brush fire that burned along the highway.
The fire was reported just before 3:40 p.m., but was quickly contained except for a few minor hot spots, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Due to the firefighting effort, westbound SR-52 at state Route 125 were shut down. The northbound SR-125 transition to westbound SR-52 was also, the CHP said.
Lanes were re-opened shortly before 5 p.m.
There were no reports of injuries or structure damage.
