SAN DIEGO - Authorities have identified the pedestrian who was killed Friday night in a hit-and-run crash on a Genesee Avenue on-ramp to state Route 163.
The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office said a driver discovered the body of 73-year-old Tekie Ghebresghi, of San Diego, on the southbound freeway on-ramp at 9:45 p.m. and called 911.
CHP officers said the driver who struck Ghebresghi sped away and has yet to be identified.
However, physical evidence from the suspect vehicle was found at the scene and CHP officials continued to investigate, a spokesperson said.
The CHP asked anyone with information on the suspect or vehicle to contact the San Diego area CHP Office at 619-220-5492.
