VISTA, Calif. - An investigation is underway Thursday night after a Sprinter train collided with a car in Vista.
The accident was reported around 8:30 p.m. near South Santa Fe Avenue and Woodland Drive.
A spokesperson for the North County Transit District said the car was going westbound on the tracks when it was hit by an eastbound Sprinter.
The driver was able to escape the car before the collision and was not injured.
There were also no injuries reported to passengers on the Sprinter.
The train is stopped on the tracks while emergency crews investigate.
The North County Transit District is providing buses to shuttle train passengers to their destination.
