Spring Valley shooting leaves victim with bullet in leg

Witnesses report 3 men running from scene

SPRING VALLEY, Calif. - A shooting investigation was under way Wednesday in Spring Valley, where a man was shot in his upper left leg by an unknown assailant, authorities said.
   
The shooting in the 8800 block of Innsdale Avenue was reported at 10:48 p.m. Tuesday, according to San Diego County sheriff's Sgt. Matt Cook.
   
Witnesses reported seeing three men running from the scene after the gunfire, the sergeant said in a statement. The men were last seen getting into a blue Toyota Camry, he said.
   
Paramedics took the victim to Scripps Mercy Hospital. He was expected to survive, Cook said.
