ESCONDIDO - Police in Escondido detained an arson suspect on Thursday and then released the person following questioning, a source told 10News.
Other sources earlier in the day told 10News that all but one fire burning in San Diego have a suspicious ignition point and that they did not start from sparks from a lawnmower or car engine or a tossed cigarette.
Fire crews have been battling nine fires across the county. No one has been injured but homes have been lost. Gov. Jerry Brown declared a state of emergency on Wednesday, clearing the way for more resources to help local firefighters.
