SOLANA BEACH - Solana Beach residents can now hold larger parties at the Fletcher Cove Community Center.
Voters in the beach-side city approved Proposition B—which changes restrictions on private parties at the Center— in Tuesday's special election that cost the city roughly $200,000.
The City Council implemented rules last year that limit parties at the center to one every other weekend, with no more than 50 guests and no more than two glasses of wine or beer per guest.
Proposition B changes the rules to allow for two parties per weekend and no limit on beer or wine.
Supporters of Proposition B said the venue should be open to the community while opponents feared parties would be a disruption.
