San Diego lifeguards say the woman was standing on rocks near the water watching the surf about a quarter mile south of the Children's Pool.A five to six-foot wave then knocked her into the water, according to lifeguards.A man who was skimboarding nearby swam over to help her. Lifeguards said the rescue was dangerous because the woman was brushing up against the rocks. The skimboarder and others helped pull her safely to shore. Lifeguards say the woman could have drowned if it was not for the skimboarder. One witness described the incident as an incredible rescue."I thought for sure this guy's got to be a lifeguard because he knew what he was doing," said witness Patrick Hamilton. "It was incredible. I was blown away."Medics evaluated the woman, who did not have any serious injuries.Copyright Do you have more information about this story?
