Skateboarder hurt in City Heights hit-run

SAN DIEGO - Police are searching for the driver who struck and injured a skateboarder late Sunday night in City Heights.

According to San Diego police, the victim was hit at about 10:30 p.m. in the area of Euclid and Polk avenues.

The skateboarder was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. His name and condition were not confirmed.

Neighbors told 10News that their private surveillance camera captured the incident on video. However, police allegedly asked the neighbors not to immediately share the video with the media.

Police later said the suspect vehicle may be a white-colored 2000 Jeep Cherokee or Ford Explorer. The driver was described as a woman with long hair.
