SAN DIEGO - A water main break shut down a portion of Federal Boulevard and at least three dozen homes were without water in Central San Diego Friday.
The main break was reported at around 3:30 a.m. in the 4900 block of Federal Boulevard. The road was shut down between 49th and Euclid and a Sig Alert was issued at 5:50 a.m. Traffic on eastbound lanes was diverted into westbound lanes.
10News learned that a 12-inch cast iron water main broke due to corrosion.
The three dozen homes are expected to be without water until about 8 p.m.
