NATIONAL CITY, Calif. - A Sig Alert on the Plaza Boulevard onramp coming from north Interstate 805 has been lifted after a big rig jackknifed Thursday.
The crash occurred around 4:39 a.m. Initial reports indicated that the semi truck hit a stalled vehicle on the right lane.
The crash blocked the Plaza Boulevard onramp and a Sig Alert was issued at 5:06 a.m.
The Sig Alert was lifted as of 6:30 a.m.
Other collisions were reported early Thursday morning as rain blanketed the San Diego area.
A man driving a pickup truck crashed at 4 a.m. in Little Italy on southbound Old Pacific Highway and Sassafras Street.
The truck hit a fire hydrant and a street light pole. The driver was taken to UCSD Medical Center to be treated for his injuries.
Police said the crash occurred right after the rain fell and they believe the rain contributed to the crash.
Other accidents were reported in the area including on west state Route 94 and College Grove Way.
