SANTEE, Calif. - A man was booked into jail Sunday after a short pursuit ended in a crash in Santee.
The pursuit, which was about a minute long, started near Cottonwood and Buena Vista avenues shortly before 1:30 p.m. Deputies say they went to pull the car over after they received a tip that the driver may have been drinking.
The car crashed near Mission Gorge Road and Magnolia Avenue and ended up lodged underneath an office trailer.
A witness said, “It was like a flurry of sparks and not really flames but you could definitely tell … I was just confused because it was kind of dark, so I didn’t exactly see the impact, but I saw the results of it.”
Deputies say the man was taken to the hospital to get checked out and then was booked into jail on suspicion of drunken driving.
