SAN DIEGO - A 46-year-old man was shot Wednesday during a robbery attempt in a Mission Valley hotel room, San Diego police reported.
A woman, whom the victim had met shortly before, arrived at his room at the Mission Valley Resort on Hotel Circle South about 5:40 a.m., according to San Diego police Sgt. Ray Battrick.
She then let two other men into the room, and they tried to rob the victim, Battrick said. During the robbery attempt, one of the suspects shot him once in his right leg, the sergeant said.
The three suspects made their getaway in a dark-colored, two-door Honda, Battrick said.
The victim, whose name was withheld, was taken to a hospital for treatment of his gunshot wound, which was not considered life-threatening, Battrick said.
Police described the shooter as a 30-year-old Hispanic man with a shaved head and thin build, standing about 5 feet 2. He was wearing a dark blue jogging suit with a hood.
The other robbery suspect was described as a 30-year-old white man, about 6 feet tall, weighing about 240 pounds and wearing black clothing.
The woman was described as white, about 37 years old and 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a heavy build. She was wearing a dark-colored sweater and jeans.
