Sex assault attempt reported in Park West: Woman says she was attacked while walking from 7-Eleven

SAN DIEGO - San Diego police were on the lookout Wednesday for a man who attempted to sexually assault a woman in Park West.

The suspect grabbed the woman as she was walking in the vicinity of Albatross and Grape streets around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to San Diego police. The woman screamed for help and the suspect ran off.

Police described the suspect as black, between 20 and 30, around 5-foot-5 with a medium build. He was wearing a beanie cap and khaki pants or shorts.

The victim told police the assailant had a "scrunched" face and appeared be a transient, police said.
