An eight-year-old Escondido boy was is recovering Friday after being bitten on his foot by a rattlesnake.
Emergency crews responded to a home near Valley Center Road and Lake Wohlford Road on Thursday evening, and the boy old was airlifted to Rady Children's Hospital.
A family member told 10News the boy was given a first dose of antivenin, and they are waiting how he responds before moving forward with treatment.
In regards to rattlesnake sightings and bites, experts say this time of year is dangerous due to the increase in temperatures.
