Semi-truck crash closes Miramar Road

MIRAMAR - A crash involving a semi-truck and car shut down a major roadway in Miramar early Thursday morning.

The crash occurred before 3:45 a.m. in the 8400 block of Miramar Road.

The details of the crash were not confirmed. According to San Diego Fire-Rescue dispatchers, a Toyota Corolla got wedged underneath the big rig, trapping its driver. Firefighters freed the driver, whose condition was unknown.   

Miramar Road was closed for more than an hour while emergency responders cleared the scene. A Sig Alert was issued at about 4:45 a.m. It was lifted before 6 a.m.
