According to McPherson, all of the Seau events are now private, except for the Chargers Celebration Of Life, taking place at Qualcomm Stadium on Friday.Mei Ling Starkey, the media relations manager/social media coordinator for the Rock Church and Academy, sent the following retraction to her previous announcement about the events being open to the public:

Pastor Miles McPherson of the Rock Church will be emceeing the 6:30-8:30 p.m. Chargers Celebration Of Life at Qualcomm Stadium, which is open to the public.The details of that event, as provided by the San Diego Chargers, are:The San Diego Chargers will host a Celebration of Life in honor of Chargers linebacker and San Diego community icon Junior Seau on Friday, May 11, at 6:30 p.m. at Qualcomm Stadium. The ceremony is open to the public and parking and admission are free. The Celebration of Life will allow San Diegans to join in a community-wide tribute to their native son who passed away on Wednesday, May 2. Special guest speakers will share stories and memories of the positive impact Seau made on them and countless others.The parking lot at Qualcomm Stadium will open at 2 p.m. and the stadium gates will open at 4:30 pm. There is no reserve seating and a large crowd is expected, so fans are urged to arrive early and carpool or take the trolley. Both the Metropolitan Transit System and North County Transit District plan to increase service Friday to accommodate fans. Fans will also have the opportunity to leave personal messages for the Seau family on the Plaza Concourse between Gates C and D. Shawn Mitchell, Senior Pastor at New Venture Christian Fellowship, will also be part of the program.
