SAN DIEGO - Police are searching Tuesday for suspects, possibly kids, who vandalized at least five vehicles in Scripps Ranch by smashing windows with a baseball bat.
At about 11:30 p.m. Monday, police began receiving reports of a man driving around with a passenger hanging out the window of a white or gray SUV, swinging a bat.
The vandals shattered the windshield of a Toyota Rav4. On southern Pine Place, the vandals pounded the back and front of a Toyota Camry. 10News learned that the husband of one of the victims got into his own car and drove after the suspects.
He cornered an SUV until officers arrived, but later learned the driver was not connected to the vandalism.
The suspects also smashed a Toyota Tercel and a Jeep.
