SAN MARCOS, Calif. - Deputies were on the lookout Friday for a man accused of assaulting another man with a beer bottle during an altercation outside a home in San Marcos.
Jesse Rodriguez is suspected of seriously injuring Elvis Gonzalez, 30, in the driveway of 209 Avenida de Suerte around 9:45 p.m. Thursday, according to San Diego County sheriff's Sgt. Henry Lebitski.
Gonzalez sustained an eight-inch laceration to the left side of his face, requiring 23 stitches and eight staples, the sergeant said in a statement.
Rodriguez fled before deputies arrived at the home. Lebitski described him as a roughly 28-year-old, 5-foot-6 Hispanic man with brown hair and brown eyes.
The motive for the altercation was under investigation.2
