Three men used a trash can lid to break out the window of a Taco Bell in Linda Vista just after 1:30 a.m. Monday.

An alert citizen heard the noise and called it in.A San Diego patrol officer was nearby and when the unit arrived on the scene, the three men tried to run.Two people were arrested while the third man fled on foot and was still on the loose as of Monday morning, according to 10News.SDPD Officer Delimitros said that it is officially a case of vandalism, but police believe it was an attempted burglary that was thwarted when a patrol officer caught them in the act.Work crews finished boarding up the window early Monday morning and the restaurant is expected to open later in the day.Copyright Do you have more information about this story?
