BONITA - Crews knocked down a fire at a San Diego Gas & Electric substation in Bonita after battling the blaze for about five hours.
The loud explosion and fire ripped through the substation before midnight Thursday.
10News learned that knocking down the fire took so long because crews had trouble getting to the substation.
SDGE is not reporting any power outages but 10News learned that the substation is de-energized, which could mean outages for those in Chula Vista and Bonita.
