SAN DIEGO - San Diego County gasoline prices have dropped to their lowest level since January 18.
According to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service, the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County dropped to $3.70.
The average price has decreased for 44 of the past 46 days, falling 20 cents in the past month.
Some stations in Escondido and the Costco in San Marcos have fallen to $3.39 a gallon for regular.
According to Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California, the dropping prices are the result of lower wholesale gasoline prices, and Friday's shift to winter blend gasoline, which costs less to produce.
