ALACHUA, Fla. - Friends and family are mourning the loss of a local teen motocross racer who died after a racing crash in Florida.
They said 16-year-old Jantz Grodzicki , of Scripps Ranch, was about to turn professional on Friday when he took part in a sanctioned amateur race in Alachua, Fla., near Gainesville.
Friends said he went over a jump and lost control.
Grodzicki was rushed to a hospital and placed on life support, but he died from his injuries on Monday
More than 350 people attended a vigil in Scripps Ranch this weekend to show their support for Grodzicki.
