Scripps Ranch house fire causes $400K in damages

Noninjury fire was reported Thursday night

SAN DIEGO - An investigation was under way in Scripps Ranch Friday to determine what sparked a house fire that caused about $400,000 in damage.

The noninjury fire in the 10300 block of Rue Chamberry erupted around 10:45 p.m. Thursday, according to a San Diego fire-rescue dispatcher.

It took crews about an hour to knock it down, she said, adding damage was estimated at $200,000 to the structure and $200,000 to its contents.
