A 63-year-old San Marcos man who held up a bank branch inside an Escondido supermarket the day after Christmas was scheduled to be sentenced Thursday in a downtown San Diego courtroom.
Anthony Paley Richards, who has two prior strikes, pleaded guilty to robbery charges in May.
Investigators say Richards confronted several tellers at the US Bank counter at the Albertsons store in the 1500 block of East Valley Parkway, displayed a black handgun and demanded cash, then took off with an undisclosed amount of money, FBI officials said
The defendant was taken into custody without incident on Jan. 4, according to the FBI.
