SAN DIEGO -
San Diego is ranked ninth in a list of America's 50 most-livable cities.
Weather, beaches, low crime rate and large number of colleges gave San Diego its lofty ranking from Bloomberg Businessweek.
Among the data analyzed by the publication was the number of bars and restaurants, libraries and museums; public school performance; professional sports teams; acres of parks relative to population; and income.
San Francisco was ranked first, praised for its "world-class restaurants and museums to community fairs and music festivals, a large educated class, and an improving economy," though the Northern California city by the bay's high cost of living and large number of homeless were also noted.
Los Angeles came in last, pulled down by poor air quality and high unemployment.
