SAN DIEGO - A 17-year-old local student was arrested Wednesday and is accused of posting a death threat against a teacher, according to San Diego police.

According to SDPD Lt. Kevin Mayer, the student, who attends Charter School San Diego in Point Loma, allegedly threatened his teacher on Facebook.

Police said in the post, the student threatened to cause bodily injury to the teacher. The teacher was notified of the threat.

Last month, the accused student allegedly posted a threat on Facebook indicating he would open fire at Marston Middle School in Clairemont.

The teen is in custody and is accused of making criminal threats, Mayer said. He was taken to juvenile hall.

According to police, the student was not in possession of any firearms.

Police said they are working with school police and officials at both schools in their investigation.
