San Diego police respond to shooting in City Heights area

At least one person injured

SAN DIEGO - A shooting in City Heights Friday evening left one person wounded, according to San Diego police.

The gunfire in the 3700 block of 42nd Street was reported just after 6 p.m., police said.

Medics took the male victim, whose age was not immediately available, to a hospital for treatment of a chest wound of undetermined severity, San Diego Police Department Sgt. Ray Battrick said.

Officers had one person in custody for questioning within about a half-hour of the shooting, Battrick said.
