San Diego man shot in gang-related attack

SAN DIEGO - A 38-year-old man was shot in the chest in an apparent gang-related attack in southeast San Diego early Wednesday, police said.

The shooting at 40th and Gamma streets was reported at 2:45 a.m., according to San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros.

Officers found the victim at Paradise Valley Hospital, where he was being treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the chest, Delimitros said in a statement.

Gang detectives were investigating.
