SAN DIEGO - A San Diego hospital has been fined $75,000 for a botched surgery in which a doctor removed the wrong kidney from an 85-year-old man.
State public health officials say Kaiser Foundation Hospital on Zion Avenue failed to follow surgical policies and procedures during the surgery, which led to the mistake two years ago.
The man survived but suffers from chronic fatigue, according to the state.
