SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Hundreds gathered in front of the San Diego County Administration building Saturday to join the Tax Day March.

“He needs to show us his taxes, he needs to take responsibility for some of the things he's done and said,” said Hannah Bossenger, who participated in the event.

Bossenger, like many across the country, is calling for the President to release his tax returns.

He is the first U.S. President in 40 years to refuse to release them to the public.

“If the people don't stand up to what's going on in this administration, it's going to be a terrible four years,” said Charles Renshow, who participated in the march.

In the past, President Trump said he wasn’t releasing his tax returns saying voters don’t care.

“I'd really hope the representative, whether Democrats or Republicans, begin to understand the people aren't going to put up with this kind of governance,” said Renshow.

10News reached out to the Republican Party of San Diego County, and they released this statement:

"The right to protest is cherished in our country but the hyperbole of many protesters, some of whom have yet to accept the results of the election, is out of step with middle of the road San Diegans who are looking for a rational dialogue about the way forward for our country.”
